  • Welcome! We love introducing people to yoga and mindful movement. We totally get that it can be a lot to try something new, in a new place, with people you’ve just met. Some of y’all extroverts are excited about that! But we know that social anxiety can creep in, as well. Mention to your instructor that you’re new to yoga before class so we can provide support, answer any questions you have, and meet you right where you’re at. Our Private Sessions are also an excellent way to get familiar with the teachings of yoga and biomechanics as they apply specifically to your unique needs and goals. We want to welcome you in the way you want to be welcomed!

  • We value a warm welcome, compassion, and honoring what your body needs moment to moment, breath to breath. In our classes, you can expect a pace that gives you time to tune in to how you’re feeling in mind, body and spirit so you can practice in integrity with your present moment experience. We offer guidance in how to move effectively, but we won’t call you out or push you to do anything more or different than what you feel you need. If there’s an adjustment that we think can make you more comfortable or safer, we’ll be kind and clear about it, and we’ll ask your consent before stepping into your personal space. We also value community, so we encourage introductions at the beginning of class. Tea and water are often available in the kitchenette.

  • As a pregnant person at Nurture, just about every class we offer is open to you. Prenatal yoga is designed specifically for the changes you’re experiencing, to help you connect with baby, and to prepare for your birthing day. The Pelvic Floor classes are excellent preparation for birth, too, and help set you up for a good postpartum recovery. Along with weekly prenatal yoga, we recommend the Nurture Birth Class to help you and your birth partner get a complete childbirth education.

  • Postpartum recovery and bonding with baby while trying to figure out What Is This Wild New Reality you’re living in can be a lot! Most postpartum clients come to class between 4 and 6 weeks after vaginal birth, and around 8 weeks after a Cesarean birth. The BYOBaby Yoga class is designed for you to bring your baby to yoga (newborn til about 8 months) so you can both gain confidence in getting out of the house together, to have a safe & fun space to meet other new parents, and to get moving again in a way that helps you heal, lifts your spirits, and renews your energy. You’ll also gain a ton of insight, healing, and strength from our BodyLab classes for Pelvic Floor and Core (especially if you’re dealing with diastasis recti). Although these classes aren’t exclusively postpartum, you are welcome to bring your pre-crawling baby with you. For those moments when you get some baby-free time to yourself, the Slow Flow & Restorative Yoga classes are bliss.

  • Definitely! Flow yoga, slow flow yoga, restorative yoga, and the BodyLab classes for pelvic floor & core are absolutely open to everyone who’s interested in slowing down, reducing stress, and moving mindfully for better mobility, flexibility, and inner strength. And if you want a fully custom experience – either with a small group or exclusively for yourself – check out our Private Session class options.

  • Our main studio is located in West Nashville: 992 Davidson Drive (not Road!), Suite #102, Nashville TN 37205 in the Hillwood/West Meade neighborhood, with easy access from Bellevue, Charlotte Park, Belle Meade, Cherokee Park, Sylvan Park, and the Nations. We’re near I-40, Exit 201, at the corner of Charlotte Pike & Davidson Drive.

    In East Nashville, we offer a limited class schedule through our partner Meliora Movement: 1106 Woodland Street, Suite #3, Nashville TN 37206, in the Five Points neighborhood.

    And we offer classes online: live on Zoom, in pre-recorded formats, and through our digital library subscription.
